ONE PLANT PROJECT

“Dear Community Members,
We are Ethan Parker and Logan and Elora Devlin. We are students at Tantasqua High School. This year we are continuing the community service project called the One Plant Project, which was created in 2021 by a member of THS’s class of 2022. Its goal is to provide local food banks/pantries with fresh produce. To accomplish this, we are looking for people to participate by growing a vegetable plant from a seedling or seeds as well as for people with vegetable gardens to donate excess produce. For those interested, seeds and seedlings will be provided to you with the hope that you will donate the produce that your plant creates back to the One Plant Project. We will then distribute it to Tantasqua-area food banks. If you are interested in signing up to help us grow food, please complete the participation form which can be found: https://www.oneplantproject.org/participate.”

Bus Driver Appreciation Email

Bus Driver Appreciation EMAIL-
Hi Burgess Families,
As we approach Springtime, and the upcoming annual celebration of all our transportation staff (drivers, monitors and office coordinators), we are planning an Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 09:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the High School Cafeteria.
This year, we are excited to announce that we will be having a student driven contest to find our “Best School Bus Driver of the Year”!
I would like to ask that all students who ride the school bus be asked to submit a short essay about, “Why I have the Best School Bus Driver of the Year!”.
We would like the essay to be brief but well though about. The essays should be placed into an envelope and sent to Drew Damien at the District Office, no later than Friday, April 5, 2024.
We would like to have the First, Second and Third place winners join us at the Appreciation Breakfast to read their essay and receive an award for their driver and themselves.
Thanks for helping to celebrate your Transportation Staff!!!
BRING ESSAY TO THE BURGESS OFFICE. THET WILL FORWARD TO DREW AT THE CENTRAL OFFICE.

Burgess Has Got Talent Show 2024!

Hello Burgess Families!

We are excited to announce that we will be holding the Burgess Has Talent talent show again this year!  As we did last year, there will be one show for students in grades K-3, and one show for students in grades 4-6.

Live Performance Format:

  • Parents or Guardian will fill out the form completely.  For acts with multiple children, a separate form should be filled out for each child.
  • Acts should be no longer than 2 minutes.
  • Any act requiring music is responsible for sending the music cut to the correct time in mp3 or mp4 format to corthelld@tantasqua.org
  • Every act will be required to attend one rehearsal.
  • Each act will be assigned one of the rehearsal dates listed below and a 15-minute rehearsal window.  We will do our best to meet everyone’s preferences indicated on the registration form but will fill time slots first come first serve.  Acts should be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and will not be able to stay at rehearsal outside of their designated window.
  • Two separate performances will be held.  Grades K-3 will perform on Wednesday, April 3rd  from 6:00 – 7:30 and grades 4-6 will perform on Friday, April 5th from 6:00 – 7:30.  *Note* if the number of participants is drastically unbalanced some third or fourth grade acts may be moved to the other show.
  • Each show will be live-streamed to the Burgess YouTube channel.  This will also post the recording to the channel so family and friends can watch it at any time.
  • Each family will be able to purchase tickets to attend the show.  The number of tickets allotted to each family will depend on the number of acts.  More information about tickets will be sent out to the families of registered acts after the registration deadline.
